Can't believe how funny this is. I don't know if you need to be a New Yawka to get it? Either way it's hysterical.
[thanks adam]

My wife and I are getting very excited. The little sophie is gaining about 1/2 a lb per week! If you want to know what she looks like here are some pictures of 3rd trimester babies. Kicking and punching, and she seems to get hiccups a lot.

These are from last night's Mets/Expos game at Shea. My Dad got tickets. We haven't been to a ball game in soo long.
*side note: My dad grew up in Brooklyn. Back then, Baseball and Bklyn were like vanilla ice cream and apple pie, spaghetti and meatballs, chickens and... well, you get the idea. My father was a star pitcher.
I, on the other hand, did not play baseball.(one season) In fact I barely know the rules. I played ice hockey, and a lot of it. Which makes my dad, a "hockey dad." If you've never heard that term before, let me explain.
A hockey dad (or mom) is a man or woman who loves their child and the sport of ice hockey so much, that they are willing to do what no other parent does. Not talking about showing up at every game or helping out at practices. I'm talking about waking up a 4:30AM to drive 2 hours to play a game at an outdoor rink in the middle of February; and you're 8! Hockey parents are a unique bread of people.
I didn't think much about it then, but sitting with him at that ball game, asking him questions, eating hotdogs, I was reminded of what this man did with me. I am a lucky son. Happy Father's Day, Dad.

Vectorama something to see.
Taken on Broadway near work. This little girl wanted something sparkley
|
I love to look across the subway car at all the feet and shoes. The women's shoes are especially fun.
|
This was at the BDQF station on Broadway. There are a million photographs to take here. Unfortunately it's usually dark..
|
I can really relate to this guy. It's amazing people wake up at their stops.
|
The sometimes shiny aluminum on the D train bounces the light and reflected colors from clothing in a ghostly way. The D train bounces my camera too.
|
An old kitchen cabinet handle. Eleni and I removed and scrubbed these things after soaking them in zipstrip. You see, someone thought it would be smart to paint over them.
|
Matty [L] and Griffin [R] at our house a couple weeks ago. I just can't believe how quickly this little guy has grown up. Griffin is also becoming a big boy. ha.

Cool. I picked up a few copies of Neomu (it's only $1.00) and found that my work was in there. Smack in the middle. I am very pleased.
Last week, while looking in a magazine shop for this little book, *Surface magazine caught my eye. As I flip through the pages and make the buy / no buy decision, I am stopped by a familiar image down in the corner. It's a piece of artwork from the 1st Neomu book with a little article about it and it's publisher/producer, Deanne Cheuk. Proceeds go to the Blind Institute in Western Australia. Thanks, DC.

A while ago, I was asked to be in the short independent film Go Jimmy Go. [Go and find me in the Cast+Crew Credits]
A bit part, but still pretty cool. It was a night shoot. 27th street and 5th ave. Gene and I play an NYFD paramedics who get bribed by an ambulance chasing lawyer.
We sat around for maybe 6 or 7 hours waiting for our setup. My paramedic costume was very small for me and tight-fitting. Luckily, I was in good company. Our well-oiled co-workers were able to hang around the set and keep us company. What? no trailer?>
Finally they were ready for us. It was quick. Whole thing took 15 minutes. I think Gene's hands got in the movie. I got to take the bribe. I am pretty sure I overacted and almost positive I looked directly into the camera at one point.
Gene later pointed out that if this film receives even mild success, we will be in imdb.com. Now that would be cool. Thanks to Brandi (producer) and Doug (director) for the fun opportunity.
* UPDATE: Gene and I are listed in imdb.com. Check us out!
Very cool: BMWFilms.

Remember the classic car pics from last month? Well as it turns out, they were shooting a film called A Beautiful Mind, starring Russel Crowe.
|
The cars were props. They had plates from all over the country and most were delivered on flatbeds.
|
These were above me at the corner of Houston and Broadway. Is this a statement? an accident? a practical joke?
|
Eleni at 59th St. We meet here to get on the 1/9 train together. I always try to sneak up when she's not looking and then I watch her looking for me. hahaha.
|
I always find the seats interesting. The tri-color design and rounded shapes always bend the sunlight in an interesting way.
|
I was surprised this came out so sharp. She's glad I cropped her yawn out.
